Today, as I was distributing pocket calenders at the Magnum, a lady approached me. She was holding a bowl, asking for donations. I, on the other hand, thought she was the customer handed her the pocket calender. We made eye contact and smiled.
She came in and started to "beg" from the people. A while later, she sat on the floor and continue begging from the people in and out.
I stood the other corner of the shop, giving out pocket calenders.
If you're coming in the shop to buy some lottery, will you go to the left side, where she was sitting begging or to the right side, where I was giving away some unknown cards? For god's sake, some of them asked if I were distributing "loan sharks" business cards. -.-"
I observed the lady. She looks physically perfect. She can walk, she can talk, she can hold a bowl. I wonder why don't she work to earn a living? But I think she really can earn quite a lot from doing that. She keeps the ringgit notes in her big bag and left the coins in the bowl. I wonder if she could earn more than me within that 3 hours.
Yesterday, I befriended with a handicap man who was selling some, I don't know what it's called but it's those "scratch and win" toto cards on his wheel chair Although he is physically impaired, I respect him a lot, he did not let that as his excuse to be lazy or not to work. He always smile and greeted his customers well.
That's not my point.
Actually, I was busy checking out the people. Majority men. consist of 1Malaysian although there was a big sign that says "Dilarang berjudi. Di bawah 18 tahun atau beragama Islam". Most of them white collars, riding bikes. Walked in with high hopes of hitting the jackpot.
That's not my point.
Oh, I saw a teenager walking around holding a basket of DVDs. I saw him yesterday, and I saw him today.
Well, I get to look at the real world closer. Everyone wants more money. Some choose to work, some choose to beg and some choose to bet. I wonder which way earns the most. No matter what way it is, money is the priority. Everyone wants better style of living, everyone wants better future. What do you see in your future?
I still cannot see mine. I do not know what kind of industry, or job position that I am interested in yet. But I have planning.
For the time being, I just want to do more variety of part time and meet more people so that i can learn from them. Everyone has story to tell.
I learn that I shouldn't give up easily despite what difficulties I am having,
I learn to appreciate because things/people will change/disappear/gone
I learn I shouldn't despise because somehow it is still a profession, and the objective is the same, earn more money for better future.
u better find a job quick.....if not 1 year down the road, u become philosopher d ..... then hide somewhere in himalaya....thinking hard to figure out the meaning of life.....
ReplyDeleteu know what? i dun like the idea of "money is very important" even though it truly is. I think we have different view about this and perhaps what I said may sound fake to u. Everyone, including me, wanna be rich. However, money is not the main thing in life. I rather think of money as a tool for me to enjoy rather than sth that m dying to get.... having an enjoyable life is what truly important... :)
